Second Round Table Trainers and Students Chess Championship

in cooperation with Plovdiv Municipality and with the sponsorship of Club Round Table Plovdiv.

The prize fund is 7,500 BGN in total,
guaranteed by the organizers.

1st place: 4,000 BGN

2nd place: 2,500 BGN

3rd place: 1,000 BGN

Rights to Participate

The tournament is only for invited players.

Competition System

The tournament will be played in 9 rounds with the Swiss System and according to the FIDE Laws of Chess. The tournament will be FIDE rated and the format is compatible with international title norms

Rate of Play

  • The time control for each game is: 90 minutes per player until the end of the game, with an increment of 30 seconds for each move played, starting from the first one.
  • The games are played using electronic clocks and boards approved by FIDE.
  • The default time is 15 min. In case of delay of more than 15 minutes, the player loses the game.
  • The players cannot draw a game by mutual agreement before black’s 30th move. A claim for a draw before black’s 30th move is permitted only through the Chief Arbiter or his/her Deputy in case of threefold repetition.

Participants who are not accommodated in the official hotel are required to pay an additional fee of 25 EUR.

Note: In case of cancellation, due to the significant and sudden deterioration of the epidemiological situation, the organizer will return the paid money to the players in full.

Late Registration fee will be available after that at 50 EUR, but no later than 27/09/2022

Epidemiological protection and measures against cheating

According to the measures that will be valid on Bulgarian's territory at that moment, the epidemiological safety of participants and officials will be carried out at the tournament.

Following FIDE Fair-Play Rules for the tournament level, the organizer will fully and thoroughly implement anti-cheating measures.

The organizer will elaborate on both measures in more detail in the competition rules.
